Liquid detergent is a type of synthetic cleansing agent which is different from soap or liquid soap. There are loads of different ingredients and formulations for these detergent. Sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) detergents are some of the most popular because of their excellent grease cutting power.
Here is my favorite formulation for SLES detergent. This one really came out well for me.

Mixing Procedure for Liquid Detergent

1. Measure 540g hot water into a bowl or beaker using a weighing scale.
2. Dissolve 180g SLES in the hot water stirring until it’s completely dissolved.
3. Add 50g CDEA or Betaine and stir until the mixture thickens and becomes creamy.
4. Dissolve 13g EDTA in 100g water and add to the mixture then stir.
5. Dissolve 5g citric acid in 50g water and add to the mixture.
6. Dissolve 5g preservative in 50g water and add to the mixture. Then stir gently until the mixture becomes creamy again.
7. Add the 7g Salt (NaCl) and stir vigorously. Now the mixture thickens into a white foamy detergent.
8. Set mixture aside overnight to allow suds to clear.
9. Add color and fragrance to taste.
10. Pour the liquid detergent into bottles. The product is ready for use.
